KENTUCKY MUNICIPAL ENERGY AGENCY WINS PUBLIC POWER COMMUNICATIONS AWARD

New Orleans, Louisiana, October 30, 2019 – Kentucky Municipal Energy Agency (KYMEA) won Awards of Excellence in both the Print/Digital and Video categories in the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Excellence in Public Power Communications Awards. The award was presented at the Association’s Customer Connections Conference in New Orleans, La.

The annual awards recognize utilities that demonstrate outstanding work in print, digital, web, social media, and video communications.

This year’s awards were judged by Mimi Collins, Director of Content Strategy at the National Association of Colleges and Employers; Sheila McLean, Midatlantic President at Markstein; and Bethany Orban, Marketing and Communications Manager at the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

The American Public Power Association is the voice of not-for-profit, community-owned utilities that power 2,000 towns and cities nationwide. They represent public power before the federal government to protect the interests of the more than 49 million people that public power utilities serve, and the 93,000 people they employ. The association advocates and advises on electricity policy, technology, trends, training, and operations. APPA members strengthen their communities by providing superior service, engaging citizens, and instilling pride in community-owned power.
